The Web

Introduction

The world wide web allows computers and users to interact using languages that create a common language, meaning the internet is becoming the most powerful communication medium in history.

Description

The web medium is created by the ability of computer applications being able to talk and understand each other, using a range of mark up languages such as Hyper Text Mark-Up Language (HTML). This common language allows for a powerful platform for web based applications presented through websites, rather than client-side applications (working from personal terminals), which are usually scripted to only understand itself.

Technical Interfaces

The Web medium is the growing hub of communications. It allows for information to be stored and retrieved from a single-source, meaning people can move and still access their information and tools where-ever they are.
